RICHTSTINE (John & Susannah MARTZ) Wayne Township 1836-1842. Allen Donald Tallman, Bountiful, Utah (Dec 26, 1997) John RICHTSTINE Sr.-703 was born on 29 Aug 1790 at Longswamp Twp., Berks, Pennsylvania. He died on 29 Sep 1881 at Brimfield Twp, Peoria, Il.. He was buried on 1 Oct 1881 at French Grove Cem, Peoria, Il.. He married Susannah MARTZ-704 on 11 Apr 1811 at , Northumberland, Pa.. She was born on 21 Apr 1788 at Augusta, Northumberland, Pennsylvania. She died in 1874 at Brimfield, Peoria, Il.. She was buried at French Grove Cem, Peoria, Il..
Children: 13+ i Henry RICHTSTINE-721 was born in 1812. 14+ ii Elizabeth RICHTSTINE-722 was born on 2 Mar 1814. 15+ iii John RICHTSTINE Jr.-595 was born on 9 Jan 1816. 16+ iv Jacob RICHTSTINE-723 was born in 1817. 17+ v Hannah RICHTSTINE-724 was born on 31 Jul 1819. 18+ vi Mary RICHTSTINE-725 was born on 30 Apr 1821. 19+ vii Margaret RICHTSTINE-726 was born on 14 Dec 1825.Elizabeth, John and Susannah's daughter removed to Butler county, Ohio about 1835. It was about 1836 that John and Susannah Richtstine removed with the remainder of there children and went to Butler County, Ohio. It is believed by this compiler that the family first moved to Madison Township, Butler County, but at least by 1840 John and his family were living in Wayne Township, Butler County, Ohio. The family is recorded in the 1840 Census of Wayne Township. This is also where their daughter Elizabeth and her husband John Martz had removed. The reason I believe John and Susannah first went to Madison Township is because Susannah's brother Abraham Martz had moved there in 1808 and was well established so it seems likely that would be there first stop.
Their next four children all married in Wayne Township, Butler County. They were John Jr. married Elizabeth GRAFT; Jacob married Amela HARTMAN; Hannah married John BOLYARD and Mary married David MOORE. This all happened from late 1839 to early 1842 and all are recorded in the Butler County Marriage Books. John Sr. and Susannah then removed to Montgomery County, Ohio about 1844. This move was to Susannah's brother David who was living in German Township, on a farm he had purchased in 1836. There children went to different areas. Some stayed in other townships in Butler County and others left Ohio for Iowa and Indiana. Margaret, John and Susannah's youngest daughter stayed with them and went to Montgomery County, Ohio.
